Will it work on my Mac?
Built for Apple Silicon (M1 and later) and macOS 14 or newer. Monitor switching has been tested on a Mac Studio M1 Ultra running macOS 26.5.2 with ASUS PA329CV and AOC 24G10E displays. Other setups aren’t verified yet.
Does this physically power off the monitor?
It disconnects the display from the macOS desktop. The panel may enter standby depending on the monitor. It doesn’t switch off the monitor’s hardware power.
What happens when I close the window?
The app keeps running in the menu bar. Choose Quit to exit and restore displays turned off by the app.
Why is it a beta?
Monitor switching uses a private macOS API that Apple can change. This release is locally signed, but isn’t signed with Developer ID or notarized by Apple. Sleep/wake, crash recovery, and every monitor configuration have not been fully tested.
Is it really free?
Yes. Monitor Toggle is free during the beta. There’s no account or subscription. The app is still being tested across different Mac and monitor setups.
